What is TRTP Trauma Therapy?

TRTP™ (The Richard's Trauma Process) is a simple, comprehensive, step-by-step process which helps you to resolve extreme trauma and trauma-related issues such as anxiety, depression, fears and phobias, quickly, safely and effectively.  It is a very structured, yet a truly eclectic therapy which uses dynamic processes, including components of Gestalt, Mindfulness, Ego-state Therapy, Choice Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Parts Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dream Rehearsal Therapy and others.  This unique process uses a dynamic, rich and sequenced series of steps that makes use of deep imagination order to deal with trauma where it is stored, in the subconscious and in the body (Levine, van der Kolk, Rothschild, Ogden) and allows your individual needs to be met.  If you want to address the symptoms of trauma as well as deal with the underlying cause, remove the emotional charge from the past and return the sympathetic nervous system to calm and a state of empowerment.

How can TRTP help?

According to the Australia Psychological Society, trauma can be the result of any stressful situation, experience, incident or event that is powerful and upsetting which triggers a traumatic reaction and that intrude into daily life.  They are usually experiences which are life threatening, pose a significant threat to a person’s physical or psychological wellbeing or witnessing a distressing event, however, situations or experiences which appear less severe can also lead to psychological trauma.  Some of the common, and cumulative reasons that underlying trauma may develop include:

  • Childhood adversity, abuse or neglect

  • Psychological, emotional abuse or narcissistic abuse

  • Miscarriage, infertility or complicated labour/birth

  • Bullying or harassment

  • Relationship breakdown or divorce

  • Domestic violence

  • Financial instability or loss that impacts security or safety

  • Family ostracization or estrangement

  • Acts of violence such as an armed robbery, war or terrorism 

  • Natural disasters such as bushfires, earthquakes or floods 

  • Interpersonal violence such as rape, child abuse, or the suicide of a family member or friend

  • Involvement in a serious motor vehicle or workplace accident

  • Witnessing a distressing event

  • Any circumstances that cause you to feel chronically unsafe 0 whether physically or psycologically

TRTP™ can help if you are experiencing any of the following physical, cognitive (thinking), behavioural (things we do) and emotional symptoms of trauma:

  • Physical symptoms:  Excessive alertness (always on the look-out for signs of danger), being easily startled, fatigue/exhaustion, disturbed sleep and general aches and pains

  • Cognitive (thinking) symptoms:  Intrusive thoughts and memories of the event, visual images of the event, nightmares, poor concentration and memory, disorientation and confusion

  • Behavioural symptoms:  Avoidance of places or activities that are reminders of the event, social withdrawal and isolation and loss of interest in normal activities.

  • Emotional symptoms:  Fear, numbness and detachment, depression, guilt, anger and irritability, anxiety and panic

As a TRTP™ Therapist (The Richard’s Trauma Process), Tracey offers TRTP™ sessions to support those of you who are committed, ready and willing to heal emotional trauma and trauma-related issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, fears, phobias and PTSD.  The TRTP™ process is a unique simple, step-by-step process which makes use of deep imagination to help address the symptoms of trauma as well as resolve the underlying cause(s) safely, effectively and quickly where it is stored, in the subconscious mind and in the body.  A shift from past traumas and stressing events is usually achieved in only three weeks, over 3-4 sessions, as Tracey focuses in on your individual needs, helps you to remove the emotional charge from the past and supports you to return to a state of empowerment, peace and calm.
